He
has sent down to you (Prophet) the Book with the truth, confirming what was
[revealed] before it, and He had sent down the Torah and the Evangel. (Q. 3:3)
Some verses of
the Qur’an explain that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon prophets of Allah and
prophet Muhammad) validated previous Abrahamic religions. So the Torah and the
Gospels did not abrogate by the Qur’an. For more you can refer to the verse
(3:50) and (5:48).
Not only the
Qur’an confirms previous holy book but also appreciate their true followers.
Some of the
people of the book (Christians and Jews) when they heard the truth, they accept
it and follow the truth.
·
When they hear what has been revealed to the Apostle, you see
their eyes fill with tears because of the truth that they recognize. They say,
‘Our Lord, we believe; so write us down among the witnesses. (5:83)
And these people
are considering as the virtuous (5:85)
Some good
attributes of Christians are mentioned:
·
and surely you will find the nearest of them in affection to the
faithful to be those who say ‘We are Christians.’ That is because there are
priests and monks among them, and because they are not arrogant. (5:82)
and in another
verses some people among Christians and Jews are respected.
·
Indeed, among the People of the Book there are some who have
faith in Allah and in what has been sent down to you, and in what has been sent
down to them. Humble toward Allah, they do not sell the signs of Allah for a
paltry gain. They shall have their reward near their Lord; indeed Allah is
swift at reckoning. (3:199)
Or in another
verse Allah says:
·
Yet they are not all alike. Among the People of the Book is an
upright nation; they recite Allah’s signs in the watches of the night and
prostrate * They have faith in Allah and the Last Day, and bid what is right
and forbid what is wrong, and they are active in [performing] good deeds. Those
are among the righteous. (3:113,114)
And so many other
verse are talking about Christians and Jews.
On the whole, Prophet Muhammad did not Violate the Torah and the
Gospels.
